7 DAYS IN A ROW: THE ATHLETE IN ME NEVER LEFT

7 DAYS IN A ROW: THE ATHLETE IN ME NEVER LEFT

7 DAYS IN A ROW: THE ATHLETE IN ME NEVER LEFT

Discipline ● Self-Love ● Self-Improvement ● One Day At A Time

Seven days.

Today makes seven straight days of training.

Walking.

Stretching.

Working my body.

Working on my website.

Showing up.

And I want to pause and appreciate that.

Not because seven days makes me special.

Not because I need anybody to congratulate me.

But because I made a commitment to myself and I kept showing up.

That's what matters.

🏈 I NEVER MADE IT TO THE NFL

I never made it to the NFL.

That's a fact.

But something happened long before I understood what that would mean for the rest of my life.

I became an athlete.

And once that mindset becomes part of you, it's difficult to turn it off.

I played.

I trained.

I competed.

I coached.

I learned what preparation meant.

When my playing days were over, I coached at Saint Cloud State University.

The uniform eventually comes off.

The game eventually ends.

But the discipline?

That can stay with you.

🧠 I STILL TRAIN LIKE I'M GETTING READY FOR THE NEXT GAME

Nobody is standing over me telling me to train.

Nobody is handing me a schedule.

Nobody is waiting for me at the door saying:

"Let's go, Coach."

I have to tell myself.

And I do.

Get up.

Move.

Stretch.

Train.

Walk.

Work.

Create.

Recover.

Come back tomorrow.

That's accountability.

I don't need an NFL contract to respect the athlete inside me.

I don't need a stadium full of people watching.

I don't need applause.

I know what I'm capable of.

🦁 MY A-B-C LIFE

My life is simple.

A-B-C.

I don't need alcohol.

I don't need drugs.

I don't need to live a lifestyle that takes me away from myself.

I know what works for me.

That doesn't mean my life has been easy.

It means I've learned that discipline gives me something to stand on when life gets difficult.

And I've had difficult moments.

🧠 THE BOUNCE-BACK GAME

I've gone through surgeries.

I've gone through loss.

I've had moments that changed how I see my body and my life.

I've had to learn things about myself that I never expected to learn.

But I'm still here.

Still moving.

Still training.

Still creating.

Still thinking.

Still building.

My bounce-back game is fire.

Not because I never got knocked down.

Because I kept finding a way to get back up.

❤️ SELF-LOVE CHANGED THE WAY I LOOK AT LIFE

I've learned that I have to appreciate myself first.

Not in an arrogant way.

In a responsibility kind of way.

I have to take care of the person in the mirror.

I have to challenge him.

I have to forgive him.

I have to hold him accountable.

I have to believe in him.

And I have to keep improving him.

That's self-love.

Self-love isn't an excuse to stay the same.

It's the foundation that gives you the courage to grow.

🎨 I'M MORE THAN AN ATHLETE

I understand my strength.

But I also understand my creativity.

I build websites.

I create content.

I think about ideas.

I write.

I design.

I communicate.

I build things that didn't exist before I imagined them.

That's another kind of strength.

The athlete in me and the creative in me don't have to compete.

They work together.

Discipline helps creativity.

Creativity gives discipline somewhere to go.

🧠 LOSS CHANGES YOU

I've lost loved ones.

And loss teaches you something about time.

You realize how quickly life moves.

You realize that the people you love aren't guaranteed to be here forever.

That's why I don't want to waste every day worrying about things I can't control.

I want to appreciate the people who are here.

Say hello.

Make the call.

Have the conversation.

Show love while you can.

Because someday, a memory may be all you have.

🦁 I DON'T NEED A CROWD

I've also learned something else:

I don't need a huge circle of friends to live a meaningful life.

I'm comfortable being responsible for myself.

I'm comfortable working alone.

I'm comfortable creating alone.

I'm comfortable training alone.

I'm comfortable walking my lane.

That doesn't mean I don't appreciate people.

I do.

I appreciate genuine people deeply.

But I don't need a crowd to validate me.

I can stand on my own two feet.

🧠 SEVEN DAYS IS A REMINDER

Seven straight days doesn't mean I have to train seven more days without listening to my body.

Discipline also means knowing when recovery matters.

The goal isn't punishment.

The goal is longevity.

The goal is becoming stronger while respecting the body that carries me.

Walk.

Stretch.

Train.

Recover.

Learn.

Create.

Repeat.

🌎 WHAT I'M REALLY BUILDING

I'm not simply building muscle.

I'm building discipline.

I'm building confidence.

I'm building resilience.

I'm building creativity.

I'm building a mindset.

I'm building a lifestyle.

I'm building the person I see in my mind.

And I'm doing it one day at a time.

Nobody knows exactly what tomorrow brings.

That's why today matters.

🧠 TODAY'S ACCOUNTABILITY CHECK

Ask yourself:

Did I show up for myself today?

Did I take care of my body?

Did I move?

Did I stretch?

Did I work toward my vision?

Did I make a decision my future self can appreciate?

If yes...

Keep going.

If no...

Don't destroy yourself over it.

Reset.

Start again.

Tomorrow is another opportunity.

🧠 FINAL TRUTH

I never made it to the NFL.

But the athlete in me never retired.

The coach in me never disappeared.

The competitor in me never disappeared.

And the person in the mirror?

He's still working.

Seven days in a row.

Walking.

Stretching.

Training.

Creating.

Building.

Learning.

And tomorrow, I'll decide what tomorrow requires.

I don't need to live ten years from now today.

I don't need to prove anything to everybody.

I need to take care of today.

Self-love.

Self-discipline.

Self-improvement.

Accountability.

One Day At A Time.

That's my game.

That's my lane.

And I'm still playing.
