The Power Never Left

The Power Never Left

The Power Never Left

Today I felt something.

Not arrogance.

Not ego.

Power.

The same competitive fire that helped me play college football.

The same fire that carried me through semi-pro football.

The same fire that helped me earn two All-Star selections.

For a moment, I felt it all again.

And then I realized something.

The power never left.

Life changed.

My body changed.

My circumstances changed.

But the fire never left.

I still wake up with a vision.

I still wake up with purpose.

I still wake up wanting to improve.

Every day I look at my feet.

I lotion them.

I stretch them.

I manage them.

They don't look the same as they once did.

That's reality.

I accept reality.

But I also understand something powerful:

My strength was never in my toes.

My strength was never in a trophy.

My strength was never in what people thought about me.

My strength has always been inside of me.

That's why I continue to build.

That's why I continue to train.

That's why I continue to create.

That's why I continue to learn.

That's why I continue to show up.

I have a place to sleep.

I have food to eat.

I have a gym membership.

I have another opportunity today.

I have a mother who believes in me and always knew I could fight my way back.

I have love for my son, no matter how much time has passed.

I have a vision.

And because of that, I have everything I need to keep moving forward.

The world will always have noise.

The world will always have negativity.

The world will always have distractions.

That's part of life.

What matters is what you choose to do with your energy.

I choose to build.

I choose to create.

I choose to train.

I choose to love myself enough to continue growing.

People took their last breath yesterday.

Others will today.

I don't overlook that.

That's one reason I refuse to waste the opportunity I've been given.

I'm still climbing.

I'm still learning.

I'm still becoming.

One Day At A Time.
